CaptureRainbow Refugee
Founded in 2000, Rainbow Refugee Committee (RRC) is a Vancouver based community group that supports and advocates with people seeking refugee protection because of persecution based on sexual orientation, gender identity, or HIV status. Rainbow Refugee Committee engages in outreach, advocacy and public education on QLGBT/HIV+ refugee issues. RRC is member driven and all volunteer.

PFLAG Canada is a national voice that speaks for a more accepting Canadian society by providing support, education and resources on issues of sexual orientation and gender identity. PFLAG’s website has multilingual resources for parents of LGBTQ+ students.



Qmunity, formerly the Centre, is a community resource providing support, health and social services, and public education for the well-being of lesbians, gay men, transgender and bisexual people and their allies in Vancouver and throughout BC.


HIM_logoHealth Initiative for Men (HIM)
HIM is community-based organization dedicated to strengthening the health and well-being of gay men. They focus in the areas of social, mental, physical and sexual health. They offer weekly social/discussion groups, yoga classes, and volunteer oppurtunities for gay men to meet other gay men. Also, HIM runs two sexual health centers (one in downtown, one on Commerical drive), which offers a range of services for gay men: STI testing, rapid HIV testing, early HIV testing, peer support, professional counselling, personal strategic advising and sexual health education.

Egale Canada is our national lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans (LGBT) human rights organization: advancing equality, diversity, education and justice. Egale’s vision is a Canada free of homophobia, biphobia, transphobia and all other forms of discrimination so that every person  can achieve their full potential, unencumbered by hatred and bias.

Out on Campus is Simon Fraser University’s Safe Space for queer students/faculty/staff and their allies, and a LGBTQ+ resource center. The Out on Campus centre has a lounge, resource library and office space staffed by volunteers and is open between 10:30 am and 4:30 pm (as often as possible).

Pride UBC is University of British Columbia’s resource centre for LGBT people and allies. It is located in the UBC Student Union Building in the Resource Group suite on the second foor, room 245C.

The Family Acceptance Project™ is the only community research, intervention, education and policy initiative that works to decrease major health and related risks for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) youth. MOSAIC is a multilingual non-profit organization dedicated to addressing issues that affect immigrants and refugees in the course of their settlement and integration into Canadian society. MOSAIC’s mandate is to support and to empower immigrant and refugee communities, helping them to address critical issues in their neighborhoods and workplace.

The Crisis Centre provides emotional support to youth, adults and seniors in distress since 1969. As a safe place to turn when there seems to be no hope, the Crisis Centre is operated by 350+ front line volunteers and a small team of professional staff who support and empower individuals to see their own strengths and options, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
